Planting, Raking, Cleaning...

On October 26 2008 Dr. Cabrera along with other members of the community

and his congregation arrived at St. James Park to help clean the park and

prepare the park for next Spring. This was a project along side with the ADL (Anti-Defamation League), New Life Outreach International and Conservative Synagogue Adath Israel of Riverdale.

It was a wonderful day, with perfect weather for gardening and raking. It was fascinating to see the community at work and to see volunteers helping the Bronx. As we were cleaning up, other local residents strolling the park decided to join in and help us out!

Dr. Cabrera was also a part of last years clean up as well.

To find out how you can help next year let us know
and we will keep you posted!

I was there.. It was good to see that the Jews from riverdale and the minorities from our neighborhood could actually work together in a safe environment. I would like to do more community projects like this.

This was a great event! Not only did the community leaders get involved, but the people from the neighborhood came by with their children to participate. We raked sooooooooooooooo many leaves and planted bulbs. I am looking forward to seeing the beautiful flowers bloom in the spring. We need to have more events at St. James park. Go Dr. Cabrera......!
